Jessica + Phil

wait, did he wear a merlot-coloured suit?

and did serenade his new wife by pulling a Tom Hanks in Big?

hell yes he did.

Jessica + Phil had many, many meetings where they used the word "merlot" to discuss the central colour of their wedding.

So Phil went out + got a custom suit made.

Only he misunderstood. He got a grape coloured suit. You know, the purple before it's sat in oak barrels for a few years + became merlot.

He got sent back.

And like any fine wine, the extra time created the perfect shade of merlot.

It's literally impossible to stop the bride [and especially when she's a total babe like Jessica] from becoming the centre of attention at a wedding

but that merlot suit does an incredible job of trying.

These two wanted everything to be light + bright + airy + garden on their day, and they had a brilliant plan of letting go of 150 white balloons at the end of their ceremony.

Yes, in this beautiful diversity garden....

Corinne gave that a

hard no

It was a beautiful idea, but balloons take one hell of a long time to biodegrade, and something gets lost between celebrating in a garden showcasing a home for endless types of flowers + birds + urban wildlife and a balloon getting stuck in like a fish habitat for the next 100 years.

So Jessica went out and searched until she found biodegradable balloons.

Corinne gave that a hard no as well.

Having balloons stuck in the fish habitat for 3-5 years (that's how long it takes a "biodegradable" to break down) instead of 100 years just wasn't good enough.

You know what was good enough?

two cannons full of dried rose petals

hot damn

That is some straight up brilliant problem solving Corinne.
Brilliant.

One exploded during their first kiss

One as they made their way back down the aisle

One incredible impact

plus the extreme juxtaposition of delicate petals being blasted out of cannons. so. good.

The garden continued into their next venue, the Convention Centre, where it was transformed into a blush + lush + airy garden party hidden behind a curtain...

for some reason Phil didn't want his wedding to feel like the conference he'd attended in the same venue earlier that year.

all the perfect details + the bright light

Adam + Kev on the deck

The dance party set up near the doors so that guests could move back and forth between the beautiful summer night + the killer party that was happening.

And the final touch,

Phil had randomly been watching Big and saw the performance that really stayed with all of us so deeply,

but actually who doesn't love that scene?

And so he secretly got a giant floor piano shipped up from LA to his friend's house where he snuck over to practice in his garage to surprise Jessica on the big day. Corinne + team snuck it in + when they arrived for their first dance

BEHOLD! THE PIANO FROM BIG!

And a serenade to demonstrate how big his love for Jessica is.
